Distressed fisherman from Quang Ngai saved at sea
PANO – On May 11, the medical personnel on Song Tu Tay (Southwest Cay) Island of Vietnam’s Truong Sa (Spratly) island district, Khanh Hoa province, successfully saved a distressed fisherman.
Earlier, at 4:00 on May 10, fisherman Truong Dinh Dam, aged 33, a crew-member of trawler QNg 95068 TS captained by Vo Ut, dove about 20 meters deep into the sea. After an hour, the fisherman experienced a headache, dizziness and nausea so he was immediately taken to Song Tu Tay Island for an emergency operation.

At 15:30 on the same day, the island’s infirmary received the victim and gave him first aid. The patient is now recovering.
Reportedly, many fishermen experience unexpected and dangerous accidents, affecting their health and lives while fishing at sea. When receiving mayday signals, the medical personnel on the islands of Truong Sa Islands, Truong Sa district, Khanh Hoa province have wholeheartedly provided them with medical services.
