Senior Lieutenant General Do Can speaking at the event |
At the event, General Do Can presented gifts of the Ministry of National Defense to 40 delegates. The delegation of national contributors from Binh Duong province is on a visit to Hanoi. During their stay here, they paid tribute to President Ho Chi Minh at his mausoleum and visited the Ministry of National Defense.
While inquiring after and wishing them good health, General Do Can also briefed the guests upon the whole military’s activities, especially the policy affairs related to troops and their families and gratitude work.
According to the deputy chief of the General Department of Political Affairs, the whole military has carried out numerous gratitude activities since early this year. Particularly, during the 75th anniversary of the Wounded and Fallen Soldiers’ Day (July 27, 1947 - 2022), defense agencies and military units launched high-level emulation drives under the theme “When drinking water, remember its source and paying gratitude to national contributors.” They contributed to building 1,769 gratitude houses, granted 806 savings books to policy beneficiaries and national contributors, and provided free health check-ups, health counselling, and medicines for more than 13,000 people. In addition, 1,489 silk ensembles were sown and presented to heroic Vietnamese mothers under care by military units nationwide. Furthermore, units also joined hands to present medical equipment to five convalescent centers for national contributors.
The above-mentioned good deeds of troops in the whole military have helped improve the spiritual and material life of policy beneficiaries and national contributors and at the same time educate troops, especially young ones about the good tradition of the nation “When drinking water, remember its source.”
At the meeting, the Binh Duong delegation reported that the provincial Party committee, authorities, troops and people have over the past years surmounted difficulties, promoted the good tradition of the province, been dynamic and creative, and obtained important achievements.
