Defense-economic unit helps extinguish forest fire in Lai Chau
PANO - Troops from Defense-economic Unit 356 of Military Region 2, in collaboration with local firefighters, extinguished a forest fire in Po Sa village, Pa Vay Su commune, Phong Tho district, Lai Chau province, on April 1.
After receiving the information about the blaze breaking out at 11:00p.m. on the same day, nearly 100 troops of the unit rushed to the scene to put out the fire.

Despite hot weather and strong winds, the firefighting forces managed to get the fire under control. They also worked with Border Post 293 in Vang Ma Chai commune, local people and authorities to extinguish the fire and carry out rescue mission.
After more than two hours, the fire was completely brought under control with absolute safety. The cause of the fire is now under investigation.
