Accordingly, each household received eight breeding pigs, veterinary medicines, antiseptic chemicals, and bran. In addition, the recipients attended a training course on methods of raising pigs and field trips to study effective models in other localities.

As reported, the 30 needy families were under the unit’s project to promote socio-economic development and build a model of soldiers and local people with a total investment of VND 820 million from the State’s capital.

According to Mr. Nguyen Huu Du, Chairman of the People’s Committee of Mo Rai commune (Sa Thay district, Kon Tum province), it is a practical project that has great significance in terms of politics, economy, security, and national defense. Especially, the project contributes to decreasing the rate of poor families in the commune and improving people’s skills in livestock development while raising income for local people, particularly ethnic minority ones, as well as consolidating the people’s trust in the Party’s guidelines and policies and the State’s laws.

Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Xuan Chung, Head of the unit, expressed his belief that if these households strictly followed guided husbandry techniques, they would soon stabilize their living conditions and escape poverty.
