He said he could not believe his family would receive a house like this. He still remembered several months ago, some soldiers, together with the head of the hamlet, suddenly visited his house. They conducted a survey to find needy families in their stationed area to support them.

Representatives from the Commando Corps Command, Party committee and Chain-of-Command of Brigade 198 hand over a great unity house to a needy family.

Mr. Chu Van Vinh’s family moved from his homeland Cao Bang province to M’Drak district, Dak Lak province 10 years ago. When they arrived here, they did not have much land for farming, thus they had to work as employees. Their children were not able to go to school. A small house was what they had always wished for.

After witnessing the difficulties that Mr. Vinh’s family is facing, the Party committee and Chain-of-Command of Brigade 198 collaborated with the local authorities to build a house for them.

According to Colonel Vu Ngoc Hung, Deputy Political Commissar of Commando Brigade 198, the unit’s Party committee and Chain-of-Command have always embraced higher levels’ resolutions and the set targets of building new-style rural areas of each locality to collaborate with the local authorities to survey and support needy families.

Since 2017, Commando Brigade 198 has built 14 houses of solidarity and gratitude, worth from VND 120 to 150 million each, for policy households and families with special difficulties in the communes of Ea Tu and Hoa Thang in Buon Ma Thuot city; the communes of Ea Yeeng, Ea Kenh, and Hoa Dong (Krong Pac district, Dak Lak province).

The unit has also built a kindergarten for Hoa Dong commune, worth nearly VND 1.9 billion VND; repaired and built the kindergartens in Ea Tu commune and Tan Hoa ward (Buon Ma Thuot city) and Hoa Sim Kindergarten in Cu Kroa commune, M'Drak district, with nearly 1,000 working days donated by its troops. The funds for the implementation of the above projects were donated by the Commando Corps Command and sponsors with the support of local Party committees and authorities, and working days of the brigade’s troops.
