During the program, coast guard troops disseminated legal regulations on offshore fishing activities to local fishermen to prevent illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing and provided them with information about the harms of drug abuses.
Troops also updated fishermen on the COVID-19 situation and requested them to strictly observe the Health Ministry’s 5K regulations, namely “Khau trang” (facemask), “Khu khuan” (disinfection), “Khoang cach” (distance), “Khong tu tap” (no gathering), and “Khai bao y te” (health declaration).
The mission also disseminated information on the significance of the upcoming elections of deputies to the 15th National Assembly and People’s Councils at all levels for the 2021-2026 tenure among fishermen to raise their awareness and encourage them to cast their votes.
On the occasion, the coast guard force presented 100 national flags, 1,500 face masks, 100 bottles of hand sanitizer, 20 life jackets and lifebuoys, and 60 books with information relating to fishing regulations to fishermen.
The mission also handed over 500 face masks and 50 bottles of antiseptic to assist Bach Long Vi’s Medical Center in preventing COVID-19 and visited and presented gifts to policy beneficiaries and needy students with good academic records.
