In reality, many emulation drives and creative activities have been held associated with big events of the nation, military, and coast guard force, contributing to motivating and encouraging the command's affiliated units and troops to try their best to well fulfill all assigned missions.

In addition to studying and following President Ho Chi Minh’s thought, morality, and lifestyle via practical activities, in combination with an emulation campaign themed “Promoting tradition, devoting talent, deserving to be Uncle Ho’s soldiers,” launched by the Central Military Commission, the “Determined-to-win” emulation over the past five years has directly contributed to more firmly building Coast Guard Region 2, meeting all task requirements in the current context, contributing to building a firm whole people’s defense posture coupled with the people’s security posture, and people heart’s posture at sea.

According to Senior Colonel Kieu Khanh Dung, Political Chief of the Coast Guard Region 2 Command, a series of programs, such as “Coast Guards stand side by side with fishermen,” “Coast Guards accompany ethnic minority people and religious followers,” have been supported by local authorities, enterprises, and people, bringing about positive effects, thereby helping fishermen keep operating at sea for economic development and protecting the national sovereignty and security over sea and islands.

Reportedly, over the past time, Coast Guard Region 2 has implemented many meaningful programs to help fishermen escape poverty and stabilize their lives, contributing to boosting military-civilians ties, promoting patriotism and love for national sea and islands, thereby raising public awareness of and responsibility for the cause of construction and protection of the national sea and islands.

Accordingly, the command has offered more than 600 sets of warm clothes, 150 wool hats, 40 blankets, 300 pairs of slippers and 170 gifts, and more than 1,200 free bowls of porridge to needy people. It has also organized the “I love my national sea and islands” 25 times, presenting 920 scholarships, 208 bicycles, four sets of speakers, three sets of computers, and more, to poor students.

The command has also disseminated information to more than 10,000 people in coastal provinces of the Central region.

Since 2019, Coast Guard Region 2, in coordination with functional units, has received information about 356 cases of accidents and engine failure at sea, and four forest fires. It has also sent 34 ships and 12 rescue boats to save six fishing trawlers with 42 fishermen and rescued three crew-members of three transport ships in distress at sea.

According to Major General Tran Quang Tuan, Commander of Coast Guard Region 2, thanks to the implementation of drastic measures, all troops are well aware of their assigned tasks, contributing to building an exemplary and typical unit and completing all assigned missions.
