During the event, troops from Coast Guard Region 3 updated local officials, civil servants, ship owners, fishermen, and residents in Xuyen Moc on the situation at sea, and disseminated legal regulations on illegal, unreported, and unregulated (IUU) fishing prevention. At the event, ship owners and captains signed commitments, pledging not to violate IUU regulations.

On this occasion, the Coast Guard Region 3 Command presented 50 gift packages, including national flags, life jackets, flashlights, essential goods, and cash, to policy beneficiary families and fishermen in difficult circumstances.

As part of the program, participating units jointly launched the “Joining Hands to Protect the Environment” campaign. In addition to collecting rubbish along Binh Chau beach, coast guard troops carried out information dissemination to raise awareness among locals and fishermen about marine environmental protection and IUU fishing.
