Speaking at the event, Standing Vice Chairman of the district People's Committee Tran Ba Phuoc said that the current rate of poor households in the locality is at 5%.

This meaningful deed not only helped the locals develop their economy, but also expressed the deep care of leaders from the Vietnam Border Guard Command toward needy people in border communes.

* Earlier, the An Giang provincial Border Guard Command granted ten breeding cattle to poor families in Ta Keo border province, Cambodia, on August 24 at the Cambodia's Border Police Battalion 603.

Senior Colonel Nguyen Thuong Le, Commander of the An Giang provincial Border Guard Command, said that this activity would help the disadvantaged Cambodian households overcome poverty.

These activities were part of the 2019 Vietnam-Cambodia border friendship exchange, which is hosted by Vietnam’s An Giang province between August 27 and 28.

On this occasion, the Vietnam Border Guard Command granted 60 breeding cattle to needy people in An Giang province and in Ta Keo province of Cambodia.
