Reportedly, nearly 700 officers, soldiers and cadets of the academy donated their blood and the blood donation program collected more than 500 units of blood. These blood units will serve patients at Military Hospital 103.

According to Senior Colonel Nguyen Ngoc Bang, Deputy Director of the Border Guard Academy, the program is an annual event of the academy to educate troops and cadets on the significance of blood donation, thereby promoting the pioneering spirit of the academy’s youths in this voluntary work.

Private Ho Van Huy from Company 3, Battalion 1, the Border Guard Academy, shared that this was the first time he donated blood. However, he felt happy as his blood will save other people’s lives.
