Over the past years, the voluntary blood donation has been widely and systematically implemented, becoming an outstanding model of the youth work and the military youth movement. The activity has demonstrated the vanguard and voluntary spirit, kindness, cultural beauty, noble deed, sentiment, and responsibility of military youth for the community.
Promoting the “Do unto others as you would have them done unto you” beautiful tradition of the Vietnamese people, Army Officer Candidate School No.1 regularly organizes blood donation activities which have become a far-reaching movement, attracting the active participation of a large number of officers, cadets, and troops. The deed has contributed to treatment of troops and people. Deeply aware of the noble meaning of voluntary blood donation, the school’s personnel and cadets have shown sympathy and willing to donate blood to save lives.

According to Major General Truong Quang Hoai, Vice President of the Army Officer Candidate School No.1, in realizing the direction of the leader of the Ministry of National Defense, since 2010, the school has coordinated with Military Hospital 103 to disseminate and organize 25 blood donation events with more than 20,000 participants, receiving a total of nearly 16,000 units of blood.
With the achievement, the Army Officer Candidate School No.1 has been evaluated as one of the leading units in the voluntary blood donation movement in the military by the leader of the Ministry of National Defense.
The school’s Vice President added that the noble deed, which has been deeply respected by society, especially patients and their families, has become a motivation for patients to overcome difficulties and pain. Donating blood to save lives also shows the military culture of the revolutionary troops, contributing to enriching the noble qualities of Uncle Ho's soldiers in the new era.

Major General Truong Quang Hoai believed that the school’s youths will continue to uphold the vanguard spirit and creativity and contribute effort and wisdom to building a comprehensively strong, exemplary, and typical school.
This time, the school's officers, cadets, instructors, and troops donated nearly 600 units of blood, contributing to providing emergency aid, treatment and healthcare for troops and people.
