Logistics Academy holds Red Sunday 2023 blood donation day

The event attracts a lot of youths.

Speaking at the event, Major General Le Thanh Long, Deputy Political Commissar of the Logistics Academy, underlined that over the past years, under the directions of the Ministry of National Defense and in response to the voluntary blood donation campaign in military units, the school has established the Voluntary Blood Donation Steering Committee. The committee has promoted information dissemination and education among officers, Youth Union members, and youths to raise their awareness of blood donation and heighten their responsibility to the community. Every year, the academy provides nearly 1,000 units of blood for Military Hospital 108.

This year, the 2023 “Red Sunday” blood donation day drew the participation of many officers and youths of the academy. It was a practical activity to respond to the voluntary blood donation movement among youths in the whole military in 2023 launched by the Military Youth Advisory Board.

Since 2009, the academy has coordinated with Military Hospital 108 to conduct 25 blood donation drives, collecting around 9,000 blood units.

The event also contributed to showing the responsibility of the academy’s youths for the community, deserving the “Uncle Ho's soldiers” title.

After the event, the academy collected nearly 500 units of blood.

Since 2009, the academy has coordinated with Military Hospital 108 to conduct 25 blood donation drives, attracting nearly 10,500 officers, instructors and youths, and collecting around 9,000 blood units.
