50 troops mobilized to assist flood-hit victims in Kon Tum
PANO - The Kon Tum Provincial Military Command has deployed 50 troops of Company 186, Sa Thay district’s Military Command to help ethnic minority people in the border area of southern Kon Tum promptly resume their normal lives after the recent historical flood.
According to Senior Colonel Doan Van Nhat, Political Commissar of the provincial Military Command on August 13, for three days now, troops have evacuated and re-erected four out of 13 houses submerged by the flood.

As the Chairman of Ia Hdrai district’s Ia Dal communal People’s Committee Nguy Dinh Phuc said, the committee had submitted a report to higher authorities; and at the same time, it had extracted its budget to support the victims with VND 26 million in cash, 300kg of rice, 200 mosquito nets, 60 boxes of instant noodles and fresh water. The authority also encouraged local enterprises to support the victims.
Earlier, on August 8, torrential rains occurred in Ia Hdrai districtsubmerging25 houses in Ia Dal commune of Ia Hdrai district.
