Military continues assisting flood-hit victims
PANO - More than 200 troops, two vehicles and six canoes are still on duty in flooded localities of Chuong My district, Hanoi to support local people, according to the Search and Rescue Department under the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army.
Meanwhile, in the Northern mountainous provinces of Lang Son, Cao Bang, Lai Chau and Lao Cai, hundreds of troops are trying their best to support the locals in overcoming the aftermath of the latest floods.

The Military Region 2 Command gave families VND 2 million for each deceased member while the People’s Committee of Phong Tho district, Lai Chau province aided VND 5.4 million to families with the bereaved and VND 2.7 million to each injured person.
Regarding the support for Laos in the dam collapse in Attapeu province, the Military Region 5 Command and Army Corps 15 are deploying 120 troops and 11 vehicles to cooperate with local forces in overcoming the consequences of the dam collapse and give free health checkups and medicines to the victims.
On August 5, the joint force checked health and gave medicines to 87 people, pasteurized 22 cubic meters of water, tidied up 15 local households in Sanamsay, Attapeu province.
