Border guards present national flags to Phu Quoc fishermen
PANO - The Border Command of Duong Dong Port Border Gate under the Kien Giang Provincial Border Guard Command presented 1,500 national flags and 500 portraits of Uncle Ho to fishermen in Phu Quoc island district at a ceremony on July 5.
Also at the event, decisions on establishing groups of safe ships and self-governing groups specialized in ensuring local order and safety were handed over to local fishermen.

According to Lieutenant Colonel Luong Quang Muoi, Commissar of the Border Command of Duong Dong Port Border Gate, 1,158 fishing boats operating in Duong Dong townlet are managed by the command. In the locality, 13 groups of safe ships with 68 ship owners and captains, and 13 self-governing groups specialized in ensuring local order and safety have been established.
On the occasion, the command provided local fishermen and ship owners with rules on fishing in the overlapping waters between Vietnam and Cambodia, the Law on Fisheries, and emergency measures on fishing adopted by the European Commission.
