PANO - A writing contest on heroic figures and fallen soldiers who laid down their lives while protecting the airspace of Vietnam has been launched by the Political Department of the Air Defense-Air Force Service.
The contest is part of the activities to mark the 60th anniversary of the foundation day of the Air Defense-Air Force Service (October 22, 1963- October 22, 2023) and the 50th death anniversary of holder of the title “Hero of the People’s Armed Forces” Dang Tinh, the first Political Commissar of the Air Defense-Air Force (April 3, 1973 - April 3, 2023).
Through articles about the sacrifices and contributions of exemplary figures in the Air Force to protecting the national airspace, the contest aims to pay gratitude to heroes and fallen soldiers who sacrificed to safeguard the airspace. Participants are also encouraged to recall their memories in combat as well as their life in the air defense and air force units.
The award handing over ceremony is scheduled to take place in celebration of the 60th anniversary of the foundation day of the Air Defense-Air Force Service in October 2023.
