Whole-army troops enjoy a happy and safe Tet
PANO – The Ministry of National Defense held a conference on Feb. 11 in Hanoi under the chair of its Minister General Ngo Xuan Lich.
Present at the event were General Luong Cuong, Director of the General Department of Politics, and Senior Lieutenant General Phan Van Giang, Chief of the General Staff and Deputy Defense Minister, among others.

Accordingly, the Ministry directed affiliated units to implement higher levels' instructions and directives on combat readiness and organization of the Tet (Lunar New Year Festival). Units at all levels maintained high combat readiness to promptly deal with unexpected situations while ensuring a happy and safe Tet for troops.
In addition, they strictly observed the military discipline, regulations on management of weapons and equipment, while collaborating with relevant forces to maintain political security and social order in localities across the country.
Meanwhile, border and coast guard units focused on preventing drug-related crime, smuggling and trade fraud in border areas and at sea. Together with localities, military units have well prepared for the 2019 enlistment drive.
On behalf of the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense, General Lich praised good outcomes of the task performances of all military units over the past time and stressed that they should continue promoting their achievements to fulfill the assigned missions in the time to come.
Notably, he urged all military units to maintain high combat readiness and to be ready for search and rescue missions in any circumstances, while completing preparations for the 2019 enlistment drive.
