VPA’s foundation day celebrated nationwide

* Politburo member and President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee (VFFCC) Nguyen Thien Nhan visited and congratulated troops of Division 9 under Army Corps 4 on December 22. Speaking to the unit’s troops, the VFFCC President sent deep gratitude to generations of Division 9’s troops in particular and troops in the whole army in general for their contributions to the national liberation, construction and defense cause. He hoped that the unit promote its tradition, better fulfill assigned missions, heighten troops’ living standards, take good care of gratitude, conduct mass mobilization activities, and build a comprehensive strong unit.

* On December 22, the municipal Party Committee, People’s Council, People’s Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City held a meeting to celebrate the 70^th anniversary of the National resistance day (December 19, 1946), the 72^nd anniversary of the VPA’s foundation day (December 22, 1944-), and the 27^th anniversary of the Whole people’s defense day (December 22, 1989-).

At the meeting, the city’s leaders and delegates recalled historical lessons and glorious tradition of the nation and reaffirmed the good nature of the glorious victories of the VPA and the heroic people of Vietnam. On this occasion, the city’s leaders presented military exploit orders to a number of cadres.

* On the occasion of the 72^nd anniversary of the VPA’s foundation day, the Command of Military Region 3 held a meeting for retired cadres of the military region in Quang Ninh, Hai Duong, Hung Yen provinces, and Hai Phong City. Earlier, the command also held a get-together for high-ranking cadres of the military region in Ninh Binh, Thai Binh, Ha Nam, Nam Dinh, and Hoa Binh provinces.
