Senior Lieutenant General Be Xuan Truong, member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Defense Minister directed the event.
Twenty two participating units were divided into two groups, competing in the missile and missile storage categories.
Technical innovation initiatives introduced to delegates at the competition
Accordingly, participating teams in the group of missile will compete in events of good weapons and technical equipment and good exploitation of them; technical days’ activities and service stations; technical innovation initiatives and participants’ awareness of related techniques. Meanwhile, teams of the group of missile storage will compete in good warehouse, practices of weapons and technical equipment management, and test in weapons and equipment concepts.
The contest is part of the implementation of the Central Military Commission’s Resolution 382 on enhancing leadership over the technical service in the current period, and to support the campaign “Good, durable, safe and economical management and exploitation of weapons and technical equipment and traffic safety” known as Campaign 50.
It also aims to unite perceptions in regularity building of the missile-related technical sector, improve quality and technical condition of weapons and technical equipment as well as raise troops’ sense of responsibility in managing and exploiting assigned weapons and equipment.
It is also a chance to evaluate involved units’ abilities of maintenance, repairs and storing of missiles and related equipment, regularity and operations, and troops’ knowledge of technical equipment and weapons.
Addressing the opening ceremony, Gen. Truong highly appreciated the preparation for the contest of units namely the Arm-level Technical Department, Artillery Corps and Missile Brigade 490.
Gen. Truong requested participating units to seriously observe the competition regulations, ensure absolute safety of personnel and equipment, heighten spirit of solidarity and try to achieve best results.
He also asked the jury to promote their responsibility and give accurate and objective assessments.
He hoped the results of the competition would contribute to effectively implementing Campaign 50, and raising combat capabilities and combat readiness ability of the missile force.
