At the event, participants heard a report on the contingent’s training outcomes and preparation for the games.
In particular, this is the fifth time the 21-member Tank Contingent will compete at this international games. During the training sessions at home, the members seriously observed the training programs and met training plans. Regular tests were conducted to review the tank crews’ firing and steering skills. Up to date, the professional expertise of the troops has been improved and they are now ready for the competition in Russia with the highest determination.
On behalf of the Tank Contingent, Colonel Vu Ba Thuong, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Armored Corps and the contingent head, promised to strictly observe the training programs, military discipline, promote spirit of solidarity, unity, show high sense of determination in training and try their best to achieve the highest possible results at Army Games 2022.

Highly appreciating the troops’ all-out efforts and active training, Major General Do Dinh Thanh asked them to bring into play the traditions of the armored troops and achievements gained in the previous games; be united, active, creative; overcome all difficulties; and complete their duties.
General Thanh aslo reminded the members to take advantage of Russian experts, make the most of their time, get used to the training ground, receive and master weaponry and equipment, improve the mastery of T72-B3 tanks, as well as hone driving and firing skills to hit targets accurately. He noted that they must follow the games’ regulations, compete honestly and reasonably, humbly learn from their peers, be determined to get the best results while ensuring absolute safety in all aspects before, during and after the games.
Earlier the same day, the Tank Contingent offered incense to commemorate President Ho Chi Minh at Da Chong Relic Site in Ba Vi district, Hanoi.

Also on July 29, at the Army Officer Training School No.1, the organizing panel of the Army Games 2022 of the Cartography Department under General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army held a similar event for the Topographic Contingent to compete at the Army Games 2022’s Meridian contest, scheduled to take place in Kazakhstan.
This is the second time the Topographic Contingent will have participated in the games.
During the training, they faced a lot of difficulties, such as different qualifications of the members, COVID-19 infections, changes in training contents to meet the games’ newly-issued regulations, and erratic weather. However, the nine-strong team, with high sense of responsibility and support of experienced and highly-professional instructors from the Cartography Department’s affiliates and Army Officer Training School No.1, has improved their professional expertise, and fitness.
In his speech, Major General Hoang Minh Ngoc, Director of the Cartography Department urged the team to clearly define their assignments, and continue to improve their skills and make thorough preparations for the games to achieve the highest possible results.
