Amidst the scorching May heat, recruits training at the Recruits Training Battalion of Regiment 244 demonstrated unwavering confidence while participating in the “Three Explosions” test. Their tanned and determined faces, as they approached the designated positions for shooting, explosive charging, and grenade throwing tests, reflected their maturity.

Private Nguyen Long Hai was the first to perform the explosive charging task. Each of his movements in wrapping the explosive charge was executed proficiently, meeting the expectations of both the unit’s officers and his comrades. Hai used to fear loud explosions. However, through rigorous training and meticulous guidance from instructors, along with his own skill and determination, he overcame this fear. During the test, he excelled in every step, ensuring the explosive was properly wrapped and adhering strictly to safety regulations. He remained confident and focused while detonating the charge, successfully destroying the target.

Excited about completing his mission, Hai attributed his success to his consistent practice and the enthusiastic support of the unit’s officers. He said he would continue striving to fulfill all assigned missions and to be worthy of the support from his officers and the trust of his family.

Hai, a graduate of the University of Commerce, has set a strong example in his platoon’s training.

Before enlistment, Private Vu Cong Tu, Hai’s comrade, had never woken up at 5 a.m. and was unfamiliar with strict military physical training. He was anxious during his first days in the military. Now, he has become a real soldier, displaying confidence in every movement and determination in his eyes. With encouragement from the unit’s officers, Tu gradually adapted to military discipline. “I never thought I could change so much,” Tu said.

Following the motto “close to soldiers to understand them, close to soldiers to guide and help them,” Regiment 244’s cadres, especially those at lower levels, always accompany recruits in their daily routines.

Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Van Suc, Political Commissar of the Recruit Training Battalion, Regiment 244, shared that during training, the unit classifies each recruit based on their capacity. Soldiers with weak physical fitness or slower comprehension receive individualized tutoring with detailed, step-by-step guidance. Recruits who master content quickly receive advanced training to maximize their potential. This approach ensures training quality while also fostering a sense of responsibility and the desire to excel in every soldier.

Special attention was paid to practical skills, as well as to the soldiers’ mentality, determination, and willpower. Thanks to the close, dedicated supervision of cadres at all levels and the recruits’ efforts to overcome difficulties, each new soldier has made remarkable progress. These are encouraging signs of the effectiveness of Regiment 244’s training program.
