Sharing difficulties with the officers and soldiers of Huoi Luong border station in their task performance, the PM affirmed that border guards are the core force in the national border management and protection, as well as the implementation of state management on defense, security, and external affairs, and maintenance of security, order and safety in border areas and border gates.

Over the past time, amid the complicated developments of the situation in the region and the world, the border guard force has successfully accomplished their assignments in protecting and managing the border, thereby firmly safeguarding national sovereignty and border security; effectively fighting against activities of crime and law violations; well managing exit and entry activities, and promote administrative procedure reform; as well as actively resolving difficulties and problems related to customs clearance, facilitating import-export activities.
The PM stated that Lai Chau has a very important strategic position in terms of defense and security, as the locality shares a borderline and two border gates with China. Stationed in Lai Chau, Huoi Luong Border Station has fulfilled all assigned tasks, contributing to tightening military-civilian solidarity and building a firm people's heart posture in border areas.
Applauding the great contribution and sacrifice of border troops in Lai Chau province and Huoi Luong Border Station over the past time, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized the significance of ensuring stability in national border and protecting national sovereignty for socio-economic development. Therefore, the building, management and protection of national border should be paid much attention to.
The PM required Huoi Luong Border Station to continue to strictly and effectively implement resolutions of the Party congresses at all levels, the strategy on national border protection, the Vietnam Border Guard Law and legal documents on the management and protection of national sovereignty and border security.
Also, the unit should flexibly apply forms and measures to building, managing and protecting border while combining the power of the law with the power of the political system, especially those of ethnic minorities.
Lai Chai and Huoi Luong border guards should pay more attention to thoroughly following security and political situations in border areas to give recommendations to higher levels, thereby dealing with unexpecting issues in a timely manner; raising troops’ political stance, solidarity and responsibility to complete all assigned missions; ensuring logistics supplies and technical services; and taking care of troops’ spiritual and material life, among others.
Still, they should closely coordinate with functional forces to fight crimes, especially drug crimes, and effectively implement defense and border external affairs, contributing to building a border of peace, friendship, cooperation and sustainable development.
The mass mobilization work should be promoted to support local authorities to boost socio-economic development and help local people eradicate hunger and reduce poverty, to name but a few.
The PM expressed his hope that Lai Chau and Huoi Luong border troops would uphold the heroic traditions of the Vietnam People’s Amry and their outstanding achievements to surmount difficulties and accomplish all assignments.
