PANO – Lieutenant Tran Van Hien, from the Department of Drugs Prevention and Fighting under the Border Guard High Command, has been commended for returning lost property to owners.
In late August officer Hien, who was on a Karatedo training course at the Mieu Mon National Training Centre in Hanoi, found a brown wallet on a bench near the centre’s lake and immediately reported it to his superior.
After verifying the lost property, including nearly VND 10 million and some personal papers, Hien and the centre's leaders contacted and returned the purse to its owner.
The owner is non-commissioned Captain Pham Van Ngoc of Military Zone 4, who was at that time in charge of logistics work for the zone’s troops joining the parade training at the centre to mark the 70th National Day anniversary.
His good deed contributes to beautifying the image of Uncle Ho’s soldiers and is a bright example for others to follow.
