An overview of the event

In his speech, Gen. Dung highlighted the outgoing DPA Director’s contribution over the past 42 years of working in the military. In particular, Major General Tran Minh Thanh, with 40 years of Party membership and experiencing different positions, is an exemplary cadre, pure in moral qualities, simple in lifestyle, and always fulfills all assignments.

Especially in his capacity as the DPA director, Gen. Thanh has worked closely with MR4’s standing board of the Party Committee and the DPA to embrace higher levels’ resolutions, direction, and actively give advice and make proposals to better the leadership over the party and political work of the military region and many times outstandingly completed assigned tasks.

Attentively, under his direction and recommendations, the Party’s ideological basis has been upheld strongly in the region’s armed forces; the combat strength and leadership capacity of party committees and cells have been raised, synergy and combat strength of the local armed forces have improved; and the region’s Party organization has been built strongly in terms of politics, ideology, and organization.

Moreover, for many years, the DPA has taken the lead in the “Determined-to-win” emulation movement of the military region.

General Dung expressed his hope that retired General Thanh will continue to promote his experience and knowledge acquired over the past 42 years and the military region’s traditions to build the homeland more prosperous and pay attention to and support the region’s armed forces.

For Major General Trinh Van Hung, new DPA director, whose latest post was Chief of Office of the General Department of Political Affairs, General Dung asked him to grasp his assigned duties and missions, regularly study and embrace the Party’s guideline and the State’s laws, higher levels’ resolutions and directives, as well as proactively propose leadership policy and approaches to better the Party and political work in the military region.

General Hung was also urged to actively direct affiliated agencies and units to complete set programs and plans for this year.

At the end of the meeting, Major General Tran Minh Thanh and Major General Trinh Van Hung signed the minutes of duty handover.
