Naval troops respond to environmental day
PANO – About 500 troops from Naval Region 5 took part in a program to clean up the environment in An Thoi town, Phu Quoc district, Kien Giang province on July 6.
Accordingly, the unit, in coordination with relevant forces and local people, collected over two tons of wastes, dredged over 500m of sewerage, cleaned up 4km of roads and 2.5 km of coastline.

In addition, the unit also organized a vehicle going around main roads of the town to raise public’s awareness of the importance of seas, islands, and environmental protection with the aim of making the environment of the “Pearl Island” of Vietnam green, clean, beautiful and safe.
According to the organizers, this program will be held on the first Saturday of every month, starting from July 2019.
