In his opening remarks, the school’s Director, Senior Captain Ngo Thanh Cong, recalled the 70-year construction and development of the academy since its inception on April 26, 1955. He also emphasized the academy’s outstanding achievements in education, training and scientific research activities, contributing to its numerous noble titles and orders, including the “Hero of the People’s Armed Forces” title, Independence, Military Exploit, Feat-of-Arms, and Fatherland Protection Orders.
Addressing the event, Gen. Nam acknowledged and lauded the academy’s excellent attainments over the past seven decades.
He highlighted the academy’s strong application of information technology, digital transformation in management and training, building digital education and training ecosystem, promotion of simulation centers, and especially application of virtual reality technology in maritime operational situations.
The unit was also commended for its expansion of international integration and update on development trends of modern navies worldwide.
Given the requirement of building elite, compact, strong and modernized Vietnam People’s Navy, the defense leader asked the school to continue to embrace and strictly realize higher levels’ resolutions and directives on renovation in education and training, on breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation and national digital transformation.

He urged the educational establishment to constantly renovate training programs and methods according to “The school’s training quality is the unit’s combat readiness capability” motto. It should also combine basic training with modern simulations, and pursue the goal of training cadres skilled in warfare strategy, techno-tactics, team work and intensive integration to build a revolutionary, standardized, modernized academy, contributing to firmly defending national sovereignty over the sea and islands.
Authorized by the State President, Sr. Lt. Gen. Pham Hoai Nam handed over the First-class Fatherland Protection Order to the academy in recognition of its outstanding accomplishments in combat, combat support, and national construction and protection.
