Department of Petrol and Oil receives noble order

Addressing the event, Defense Minister General Phan Van Giang applauded the military petroleum sector’s personnel for their attainments over the past seven decades.

Given new task requirements in the new situation, Gen. Giang asked the Party committees and chains-of-command of the GDLT and the department to regularly grasp the Party’s views, guidelines and the State’s policies and laws on military and defense, focusing on the Party’s resolution on Fatherland protection strategy in the new situation and other resolutions adopted by the Central Military Commission on logistics and technical services by 2030 and the following years. 

The defense chief also requested the department to keep a close watch on situational developments to give timely suggestions of petroleum affairs to higher levels. It should also develop plans to ensure the provision of petroleum in any circumstances. In addition, its personnel should be innovative at work, dare to think big, act bold, bear responsibility, improve their expertise, and make breakthroughs in studying and mastering technologies used to produce materials, parts and petroleum products for weapons and equipment in the direction of autonomy, self-reliance, dual-use, and modernity.

In addition, the department should continue to put the force building at the center, the equipment innovation as the key and build a strong reserve force in the industry, as well as capitalize on all resources to meet the task requirements of building and defending the Fatherland in the new situation.

It should also concentrate on improving the leadership capacity and combat strength of Party committees and Party cells at all levels, improving its personnel’s material and spiritual life, effectively carry outing emulation movements and strengthening ties with people in stationed areas.
