During the visit, Lt. Col. Le Van Quyet, Commanding Officer of Huoi Luong Border Post, briefed the delegation on the unit’s task performance over the past time. Accordingly, the border post is tasked to manage a 13.015km long border line with 21 villages and over 7,000 people. The unit has collaborated with functional agencies and local people to firmly protect the national sovereignty, fight against border crime, and maintain political security and social order in the border area.

Speaking at the event, General Phuong acknowledged achievements of the unit and the authorities of Phong Tho district in developing socio-economy, ensuring defense and security, safeguarding the national border sovereignty, and preventing and controlling the COVID-19 pandemic. In addition, he shared with difficulties of troops and people in the border area.

The N.A. Vice Chairman required the local authorities and functional agencies to grasp all situations while asking the border guards to collaborate with relevant forces to maintain combat readiness, deal with unexpected situations, and firmly protect the national territory and border security. He also urged them to enhance border external affairs and people-to-people diplomacy, contributing to building a border of peace, friendship, cooperation and development.

On the occasion, General Phuong presented gifts to Huoi Luong Border Post, Phong Tho district Military Command, 20 outstanding families, and four children.
