At the event, Major General Vu Viet Hung, Director of the Department of Military Training and School Management under the General Staff, reported that the past academic year saw significant innovation in curricula, teaching methods, and enrollment. The number of applications for military universities and colleges in 2025 increased by more than 41% compared to 2024. Fourteen new majors have been launched, and training programs adjusted to reduce theory and increase practical, field-based training. Currently, nearly 77% of instructors at military schools hold postgraduate degrees, a 12.7% increase against 2024, with 18 professors and 354 associate professors.
Gen. Hung also emphasized that the motto of “Training quality of schools reflects combat readiness of units” was implemented substantively and effectively, helping narrow the gap among schools and units.

Also at the conference, leaders of military academies highlighted experience in linking training with practice, applying advanced technologies to teaching and learning, enhancing international academic cooperation and scientific research. They proposed further investment in infrastructure, training facilities, and modern equipment, along with policies to attract and retain talented instructors.
On behalf of the Central Military Commission and Ministry of National Defense, Chief of the General Staff and Deputy Defense Minister General Nguyen Tan Cuong praised agencies, units and schools for their achievements in the past academic year. He urged stronger innovation in thinking and action, closer links between training and unit requirements, and further development of a highly qualified instructors with both expertise and dedication.
He emphasized the need to prepare for computer-based entrance assessments and to connect training with scientific research, production, and testing in practice.

The defense leader also directed military academies and schools to develop talent training programs in such fields as command and staff, political affairs, military science and technology, defense intelligence, and military medicine. He instructed them to research and open new majors to serve the development of defense industry and the modernization of the military.
At the event, the organizing panel presented certificates of merit from the Chief of the General Staff to 51 groups and 52 individuals with outstanding attainments in the 2024-2025 school year, and those from the Minister of National Defense to 117 top graduates and winners of national and international competitions.
