Specifically, the command signed an agreement with the Commission for Information, Education and Mass Mobilization under the Vinh Long province’s Party Committee on promoting education about national sea and islands in the 2025-2030 period; an agreement on maritime information dissemination with Vinh Long Newspaper and Vinh Long Radio, Television; and an agreement with the Vinh Long Provincial Department of Education and Training to carry out the contest “I love national sea and islands” for the 2024-2030 period.

The cooperation will focus on disseminating the Party’s guideline and the State’s laws on protecting sovereignty, linking socio-economic and cultural development with maritime security and order, Vietnam’s and international laws on combating illegal, unreported, and unregulated (IUU) fishing. It will also provide knowledge and skills on maritime safety, search and rescue, and support for fishermen at sea.

In addition, the parties will jointly organize social welfare activities, such as scholarship-granting, free provision of health check-ups and medicine for policy beneficiaries and disadvantaged fishermen, and mobilization of resources for children with disabilities and serious illnesses.
Other initiatives include environmental protection campaigns, art and literature contests about the sea, islands, and servicemen, training on drowning prevention and social issues, and field trips to Coast Guard Region 3 Command’s affiliates.

Sr. Col. Le Van Tu, Political Commissar of the Coast Guard Region 3 Command, spoke highly of the cooperation programs to help raise the public’s awareness of and responsibility for safeguarding national sovereignty and maritime security. He noted they also create a foundation to harness the strength of the entire political system and foster unity and public support for protecting national sea and islands.
