Military units well take care of troops during Tet
PANO – During the Lunar New Year (Tet) holiday, leaders of the Ministry of National Defense, the General Staff, and the General Department of Politics inspected combat readiness posture, visited and presented gifts to several military units in border areas and on islands, convalescent centers, policy beneficiaries, and outstanding national contributors.
The Central Military Commission and Ministry of National Defense presented gifts to retired generals, held meetings for senior officers in Hanoi and localities in Military Regions 5, 7, 9. The ministry also spent over VND 1.1 billion assisting wounded and sick soldiers, martyrs’ families, needy Agent Orange victims and authorized Military Regions 1,2,3,4,5 and Army Corps 1,2,4 to hand over the defense leadership's gifts to wounded soldiers at convalescent centers and hospitals.
Provincial military commands gave constructive advice to local Party committees, and authorities on taking care of families of troops on missions in the Truong Sa archipelago and on DK1 platforms, border posts and those on duty during Tet holiday.
Furthermore, military units strictly implemented the Ministry of National Defense’s instructions and the General Department of Politics’ directions on organizing a happy, safe, and economical New Year festival for troops, taking care of material and spiritual life for those on duty and their families.
