Addressing the launch, Major General Do Hoang Ngan, Deputy Political Commissar of the school called on every cadre, instructor, cadet and soldier to volunteer to donate blood and join hands with the country to defeat COVID-19 pandemic, bringing back peaceful life to both troops and people.
On behalf of the donors, Corporal Bui Quang Huy, a cadet of Company 1, Battalion 2, emphasized that donating blood to save lives is both an emotion, conscience, and compassion, and an obligation and responsibility of youth to the community. “We pledge to carry out the drive well, thereby spreading the noble and humane message of the voluntary blood donation drive to everyone,” Huy said.
In this first drive of the year, the whole school donated nearly 500 blood units to the treatment, emergency aid and care for troops and people during the upcoming lunar New Year.
Over the past years, the Army Officers Candidate School No.2 has teamed with Military Hospital 175 to organize similar voluntary blood donation drives, helping the hospital be proactive in blood source for emergency and treatment. Last year, the school held two drives to collect blood in the spirit of “each blood drop donated, a life saved.”
