The activity aimed to call upon the hospital’s personnel to donate blood to serve treatment for patients, especially amid the complicated developments of the COVID-19 pandemic which have badly impacted the mobilization and organization of blood donation as well as the receipt of donated blood.

Addressing the event, Senior Colonel Truong Ngoc Duong emphasized the humanitarian and humane significance of voluntary blood donation. He said that though science has made great progress, it is still not possible to research a substitute for blood.

Acknowledging the importance of blood to treatment, Senior Colonel Duong asked the hospital staff and workers to heighten their responsibility for troops and people’s health.

In the spirit of “A drop of blood donated, a life saved,” and “Safe blood donation despite COVID-19,” nearly 200 staff and workers of the hospital registered to donate their blood. The blood collection was conducted with strict observance of COVID-19 prevention and control regulations.

It is estimated that around 120 units of blood were collected on the day.
