Military financial sector meets task requirements
PANO – On June 23, the Ministry of National Defense held a conference to review financial work in 2024 under the chair of Senior Lieutenant General Vu Hai San, Deputy Minister of National Defense. The event was held in person at the defense ministry’s headquarters and connected online to 30 military units nationwide.
Attending the conference at the defense ministry’s headquarters were Senior Lieutenant General Phung Si Tan, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army (VPA); Senior Lieutenant General Le Quang Minh, Deputy Chief of the General Department of Political Affairs (GDP) of the VPA; and representatives from general departments, agencies, and units under the Ministry of National Defense.

The conference noted that in 2024, under the leadership of the Central Military Commission's Standing Board and the Ministry of National Defense, the military financial sector overcame various challenges, pro-actively gave advice, and proposed many effective measures to higher levels. The sector met both regular and ad-hoc mission requirements of the military, closely following the State’s financial management mechanisms and the specific characteristics of national defense. Financial resources were balanced and tightly managed, thereby contributing significantly to fulfilling military and defense tasks.
Senior Lieutenant General Vu Hai San praised the agencies, units, and military-run enterprises for overcoming hardships and successfully completing the 2024 financial tasks, achieving remarkable results.

Regarding key tasks for the second half of 2025, the Ministry of National Defense instructed the entire military to focus on implementing the set plans, including the State budget framework for regular defense spending in the 2026–2030 period; the medium-term public investment plan using the State budget in the 2026–2030 period; and the medium-term basic construction investment plan using the State budget for regular defense spending in the 2026–2030 period.
