Sr. Lt. Gen. Do Can speaks at the event |
Stressing that the PAN is among the most prestigious and leading newspapers in the Vietnam revolutionary press system, General Can hailed the newspaper’s Party Committee, Editorial Board, reporters, editors, and employees for their achievements over the past time, especially their good task performance in the first half of this year.
He highlighted the newspaper’s pioneering role in implementing political missions and disseminating information about the Party’s policies, guidelines and the State law, the military’s missions, and other resolutions and directives issued by the Central Military Commission, Ministry of National Defense and others.
He praised the newspaper for its articles about units’ training, combat readiness, search and rescue activities and its social impact writing contest named “Simple but noble examples.”
Regarding protecting the Party’s ideological foundation, General Can spoke highly of the newspaper’s articles on “peaceful evolution” schemes, signs of “self-transformation” and “self-evolution”, and erroneous and hostile viewpoints.
He urged the newspaper’s staff and workers to stay united, maintain a high sense of responsibility, overcome difficulties, and complete all assignments. He also emphasized the need to improve the quality of the newspaper and human resources and develop multimedia communications to attract more domestic and international readers.
On behalf of the PAN, Editor-in-Chief Major General Doan Xuan Bo thanked General Can and his entourage for their visit to the newspaper and confirmed that the PAN’s personnel will consolidate solidarity and bring into full play their collective strength to further improve the newspaper’s prestige and position.
He happily informed that amid the complicated development of the COVID-19 pandemic, the newspaper has sent a number of crews to COVID-19 hotbeds to cover locals’ efforts in curbing the spread of the disease.
