People’s Army Newspaper urged to become multimedia press agency
PANO – Deputy Head of the Party Central Committee's Commission for Information and Education and Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Manh Hung visited and congratulated the People’s Army Newspaper on the 96th Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day on June 16.
Speaking at the meeting with the newspaper’s representatives, Hung highly appreciated the newspaper’s contributions to the press sector over the past time. He said as an organ of the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense and the voice of the armed forces and people, the newspaper has paid attention to renewing and diversifying its dissemination methods and building a contingent of competent personnel.
He expressed his belief that under the leadership of the newspaper’s Party Committee and editorial board, the newspaper will continue contributing to the development of the press sector in particular and the nation in general.
Hung urged the newspaper to thoroughly embrace and strictly carry out the resolution of the 13th National Party Congress, the Party’s and state’s policies on journalism. The newspaper should continue posting articles to orient public’s opinion and develop it into a top multimedia press agency in the country, contributing to building a modern and professional revolutionary press sector.
The People’s Army Newspaper must be an exemplary press agency, Hung said.
At the meeting, Editor-in-Chief of the People’s Army Newspaper Major General Doan Xuan Bo thanked Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Manh Hung for his compliments and promised that the newspaper will continue promoting unity among personnel and renewing dissemination methods to raise the effectiveness of information dissemination.
General Bo hoped to receive more support from the Ministry of Information and Communications in the future.
