The event was connected from the central venue at the Hall of the Khanh Hoa Provincial Military Command to three islands in Truong Sa Special Zone, namely Truong Sa (Spatly) Island, Sinh Ton (Sin Cowe) Island, and Da Tay Island (West London Reef). Technical support was provided by Brigade 132 under the Signal Corps.

At the program, Chairman of the Khanh Hoa Provincial People’s Committee Tran Phong reported that the province met or exceeded 21 of 22 socio-economic targets in 2025 despite various challenges. These achievements in economy, security, and Party-building provide a solid foundation for future growth. Amidst the upcoming Lunar New Year, provincial leaders also held a virtual meeting with island-based personnel and residents to review holiday preparations and combat readiness.

At Sinh Ton Island, Secretary of the Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee Nghiem Xuan Thanh spoke with Commander Nguyen Huy Tuong, the island’s commanding officer. The program also featured an emotional exchange between Le Thi Kim Thi, a resident living on the island, and her parents, Le Van Tinh and Pham Thi Phuong, who joined from the mainland venue.
At Da Tay Island, Chairman Tran Phong extended greetings to Commander Tran Van Phuc, the island’s commanding officer, and spoke with Petty Officer Third Class Phan Van Thanh, a student of Nha Trang University who volunteered to join the military. The moment was made more meaningful by the presence of his parents, Phan Van Khoa and Dang Thi Thanh Giang, at the mainland hall, where they conveyed their encouragement to their son as it is his first Lunar New Year away from home.

Scholarships presented to children of personnel serving on the islands |
At Truong Sa Island venue, provincial leaders were briefed on the coordination among forces, the festive atmosphere on the island, and the determination of troops and residents to fulfill their assigned duties.
On behalf of the provincial leadership, Nghiem Xuan Thanh extended Lunar New Year greetings to all officers, soldiers, and residents of Truong Sa Special Zone, expressing his hope that they would celebrate a warm and joyful holiday while remaining steadfast in safeguarding national maritime sovereignty and building cultural life in the nation’s sea and islands.
On this occasion, the provincial authorities presented gifts to 10 families of relatives of officers, soldiers, civil servants, and residents currently working in Truong Sa. The Provincial Women’s Union Organization awarded 10 scholarships to children of personnel serving on the islands.
During the program, the organizing panel also received contributions to the “For Vietnam’s Sea and Islands Fund” of Khanh Hoa province from agencies, enterprises, and schools.
