General Staff discusses judicial work
PANO – The General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army on June 8 held a conference, under the chair of its Deputy Chief Lieutenant General Phung Si Tan, to review judicial work in the military over the first half of the year and roll out tasks for the remainder of the year.
Reportedly, since the beginning of the year, judicial units of the General Staff have actively disseminated information and closely worked with relevant organs to effectively fight against all kinds of crimes, contributing to strictly maintaining military disciplines and State laws.
Meanwhile, investigation, prosecution and adjudication of criminal cases and certain procedures for the execution of criminal judgments in the military were carried out seriously and in accordance with the laws.
Military units also implemented law dissemination and education in military units, so as to raise troops’ awareness of State laws and ensure military disciplines and regulations, contributing to building comprehensively strong military units.
Addressing the conference, General Tan hailed the units’ achievements in judicial work over the past six months and pointed out their shortcomings that need to be fixed.
The General also asked them to continue grasping directions and regulations of the General Staff’s Party Committee in the fight against crimes in the current context.
They should also work with other law enforcement units and organizations inside and outside the military so as to be ready to deal with crimes in any circumstances.
