Following the Defense Minister’s directive at the commendation ceremony for the forces that took part in the parade marking the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2, the General Staff assigned the Department of Military Training and School Management to coordinate with relevant agencies to research and modify these movements. Army Officer Candidate School No.1 (Tran Quoc Tuan University) was tasked with the practical demonstration.
Quick march and goose-step are two fundamental and extremely important movements in the drill regulations, demonstrating the solidarity, regularity, discipline, and strength of the military. The modifications aim to make the movements easier to apply in daily activities, reducing training time while still meeting required standards.

At the event, after a report from the Department of Military Training and School Management, the demonstration team from Army Officer Candidate School No.1 showcased the proposed modifications. The new options inherit previous movements, overcome current limitations, and are suitable for various subjects.
Concluding the event, General Phan Van Giang commended the General Staff and relevant units for their pro-active research and proposals. The Minister requested that agencies continue adjusting the plans to ensure the movements are “accurate, uniform, beautiful, and solemn.” He also noted the need to compare them with previous drill regulations and those of other militaries worldwide.
The General tasked Army Officer Candidate School No.1 with continuing as the demonstration team, coordinating with agencies to train and analyze the pros and cons of each option. Based on this, they will advise the leaders of the Defense Ministry for consideration and approval, ensuring unified implementation across the entire military.
