General Luong Cuong chairs meeting of top GDP leaders
PANO – On January 13, General Luong Cuong, Chief of the General Department of Political Affairs (GDP) of the Vietnam People’s Army, chaired a meeting of top leaders of the GDP on preparation for the coming lunar New Year (Tet) 2023 and mapping out tasks in the next month.
Present at the event were also Deputy Chiefs of the GDP Senior Lieutenant General Do Can and Lieutenant Generals Trinh Van Quyet, Nguyen Van Gau, and Le Quang Minh.
Reportedly, in order to ensure a cozy and happy Tet holiday, functional agencies of the GDP have grasped directions of the Central Party Committee, Central Military Commission, and Defense Ministry.

At the same time, they have instructed the whole military’s units to raise troops’ political stance, promote combat readiness, and prepare activities for those on duty during the national traditional festive days.
Meanwhile, they were also urged to actively boost emulation drives to contribute to successfully performing tasks.
In his speech, General Luong Cuong requested relevant units and agencies to guarantee regulated Tet necessities for troops, especially those who are on duty during the festive days; pro-actively support needy troops and local people in areas where they are stationed; strictly implement decrees of the Secretariat, Prime Minister, and Defense Minister as well as the GDP’s instructions on welcoming the traditional holiday.
At the same time, General Luong Cuong requested military units to heighten their combat readiness quality, take care of troops’ living standards, and pay due attention to young service-members who are going to perform tasks during the Tet festival far from home for the first time, especially in rural and border areas and on islands.
General Luong Cuong extended greetings on the occasion of the coming Tet holiday, underlining that the next lunar New Year, all units and agencies in the military would further successfully fulfill their assigned tasks.
