GDP leaders extend Tet greetings to units
PANO - On January 15, ahead of the traditional Tet (lunar New Year) festival 2025, a delegation of the General Department of Political Affairs (GDP) of the Vietnam People's Army (VPA), led by Lieutenant General Truong Thien To, Deputy Chief of the GDP, visited and extended Tet greetings to several units, including the People's Army Newspaper, the Military Broadcasting Center, the Military Arts and Letters Magazine, and the Military Library.
During the visits, General To commended these units on their achievements in 2024, noting the press agencies' thorough coverage of military activities and their role in enhancing the image of VPA officers and soldiers, as well as the Military Library's innovations and improvements in introducing books and newspapers and information dissemination.

He urged the units’ leaderships to build on their accomplishments in 2024 by fostering solidarity, overcoming difficulties, and fulfilling assigned tasks. He asked them to care for the well-being of personnel and their families on the occasion of the Tet festival while maintaining combat readiness and absolute safety.
On behalf of the GDP leadership, Lt. Gen. Truong Thien To presented Tet gifts to the units and extended New Year greetings to all personnel and their families.
On the same day, Lt. Gen. Do Xuan Tung, Deputy Chief of the GDP, led another delegation to inspect and extend Tet greetings to Flotilla 11 (Coast Guard Region 1), the border guard force of Hai Phong Port, the Hai Phong municipal Military Command, and Brigade 679 (Naval Region 1).

Inspections revealed that the units had thoroughly implemented leadership directives on combat readiness, pro-actively conducted crime prevention at sea and in coastal areas, and ensured good spiritual and physical life for personnel ahead of the upcoming Tet festival.
Lt. Gen. Do Xuan Tung encouraged the units to regularly exchange information with relevant forces to ensure political security and social order in their stationed areas while maintaining strict combat readiness. He also urged the units’ leadership to organize a warm, safe, and economical Tet for troops while joining the local authorities to visit and support policy beneficiaries.
On behalf of the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense, he conveyed New Year greetings and presented Tet gifts to the units.
