Speaking at the event, Director of the Department of Political Information and Education Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Duc emphasized that the contest was one of the key art and culture activities in celebrations of big events of the country and military in 2024.

The contest, according to Gen. Duc, aimed to gather posters on the armed forces, Uncle Ho's soldiers; widely popularize the military-civilian solidarity, the glorious traditions of the military over the past eight decades of construction, combat and development; and widely spread contribution and achievements of the armed forces and people nationwide in the current Fatherland building and defense cause.

Through the contest, painters throughout the country will contribute to reflecting and shining the strong vitality of posters, continuing to beautify the image of Uncle Ho's soldiers; promoting the patriotic emulation movement; arousing passion, promoting creativity on posters on Uncle Ho's soldiers.

Professional and amateur painters, Vietnamese citizens at home and abroad are eligible to take part in this contest. Each entry must have a 54cmx79cm size, has not participate in other competitions or disseminated in any forms. The author is responsible for copyright. Each author can send multiple works.

At the launching ceremony

The deadline for receiving entries is July 30, 2024. Photos of the entries should be emailed to vhvnquandoi@gmail.com while entries are sent by post to the Division of Culture and Arts, Department of Political Information and Education, the General Department of Political Affairs of the Vietnam People’s Army at No.4 Ly Nam De Street, Hoan Kiem district, Hanoi.

The awarding ceremony is slated for December this year. The organizing panel will grant certificates and rewards in cash to one A, two B, three C and five consolation prize winners. Two other prizes will be handed over to units with the most contestants and the most quality entries.
