PANO – A mission of the General Department of Logistics (GDL) concluded a nine-day trip, starting from April 25, to islands of the Truong Sa (Spratly) archipelago in Khanh Hoa province and DK1 platforms in Ba Ria – Vung Tau province.
The mission, led by GDL Political Commissar Lieutenant General Le Van Hoang, visited and presented gifts to troops and residents on Truong Sa, Da Lat, Da Tay, Phan Vinh and Nui Le islands and DK1 platform.
Briefed on the task performance of troops on those islands in 2018 and in the first quarter of 2019, Gen. Hoang highly appreciated their outstanding achievements and emphasized that in spite of harsh conditions, units well executed their duties, organized patrols to ensure safety and security of their assigned targets, conducted training in line with the set programs, inspected fishing boats at sea, and promoted green cultivation and husbandry to improve troops’ living standards.
