PANO – Nearly 400 former female soldiers, representing thousands of other female soldiers from Division H during the fierce war against the American imperialists for the national salvation, had a moving get-together on September 25th at the hall of the Military Zone 5 Cultural House in Danang city.
The get-together, according to Colonel Truong Duc Nghia, Division H’s commander, was a significant event that reminded the magnanimous tradition, as well as showing deep gratitude to those for devoting their lives to the national salvation.
“They died all over battle fields. Their most beautiful and glorious periods of life were when they experienced much hardship and sacrifice. Many female soldiers have still suffered from serious wounds and pains. How proud their silent sacrifice is,” Colonel Truong Duc Nghia added.
At a meeting with the participants Nguyen Thi Thu Huong, a former deputy commissar from Company 3, Battalion 19, said that it was the strong will, courage and hatred for the enemy that gave them strength to win over the enemy and the independence for the nation.
The get-together ended with a ceremony to present gifts to the former female soldiers.
