Deputy defense minister asks thorough preparation for important scientific conference

The meeting, jointly organized by the Ministry of National Defense, the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Information and Education, Ministry of Public Security and the capital of Hanoi, was under the chair of Deputy Defense Minister Sr. Lt. Gen. Le Huy Vinh.

The historic victory of the “Hanoi - Dien Bien Phu in the Air” operation (Vietnam’s victory over Operation Linebacker II of U.S. troops) in December 1972 clearly demonstrated the strategic vision, right and wise leadership, and ingenious, flexible command capability of the Party Central Committee, the Central Military Commission and others. Thus, the organization of a scientific conference on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the “Hanoi - Dien Bien Phu in the Air” Victory holds important significance. It will help evaluate and affirm the stature, meaning, cause for victory, draw historical lessons to apply in the new period and at the same time express gratitude to the armed forces, cadres and people, particularly troops and people of Hanoi and officers and soldiers of the Air Defense - Air Force Service, for their great dedication.

The ensure the successful organization of the conference under the theme “Hanoi - Dien Bien Phu in the Air Victory 1972 - Vietnam’s strength and the stature of the times,” scheduled on December 5, 2022, Gen. Vinh asked relevant agencies and units to continue to coordinate closely to make thorough preparations. They should also pay attention to editing, correcting facts and figures in the presentations to ensure their accuracy, complete the conference summary record, and others.
