Exchange celebrates 45 years of "Hanoi - Dien Bien Phu in the Air" victory
PANO - Division 371 of the Air Defense and Air Force Service of the Vietnam People's Army held a seminar on December 25 to exchange with historical witnesses who had participated in the “Hanoi-Dien Bien Phu in the Air” campaign.
The event saw the participation of Lieutenant General Pham Tuan, Hero of the People's Armed Forces; Senior Colonel, Hero of the People's Armed Forces Nguyen Van Chuyen; Senior Colonel Bui Van Co, former Deputy Commander-in-chief in charge of technical services under Regiment 927, along with nearly 500 troops of Division 371 of the Air Defense and Air Force Service and youths in Soc Son district, Hanoi.
During the seminar, the witnesses recalled the historic battle against US B-52 bombing raid in December 1972 - the “Hanoi-Dien Bien Phu in the Air" and shared difficulties, hardships and sacrifices of the Vietnamese people and armed forces with the Air Defense-Air Force Service as the core force at that time. These stories are also the valuable lessons and experiences for young generations.
Speaking at the event, Senior Colonel Nguyen Viet Hung, Deputy-Chief of Division 371 of the Air Defense and Air Force Service said that this was a practical activity to help the unit's young troops to learn more about the significance of the "Hanoi-Dien Bien Phu in the Air" victory and the value of peace, freedom and happiness, as well as be ready to accomplish all assigned tasks in the current context.
