Defense ministry inspects natural disaster prevention and relief in Military Region 3
PANO - On September 9, the working group from the Ministry of National Defense, led by Major General Ha Nhu Loi, Deputy Chief of the General Department of Logistics, conducted direct inspections of several military units affected by Typhoon Yagi in the Military Region 3 area.
The delegation inspected the damages at the Quang Ninh provincial Military Command; Regiment 213 (Division 363, Air Defense - Air Force Service); Unit 22 (the Naval Service); Brigade 147 (Naval Region 1); and Brigade 490 (Artillery Corps).

The inspection revealed that the units are urgently mobilizing all resources to mitigate the consequences, relocating personnel, equipment, and assets from dangerous areas, reinforcing barracks, and preparing rescue forces and equipment to assist the population in recovering from Typhoon Yagi.
The working group instructed the units to continue strictly implementing the directives from higher authorities, quickly stabilize the situation, maintain combat readiness, and be prepared to handle arising situations, ensuring absolute safety of personnel and equipment.

The units were also directed to coordinate with local authorities and stationed forces to assist the population in overcoming the natural disaster. Alongside these tasks, the units need to pay special attention to post-storm disease prevention measures, ensuring environmental sanitation and the well-being of soldiers.
As of 4:00 p.m. on September 9, 26 units in the area affected by Typhoon Yagi reported their damages. Initial statistics indicate that 23 structures collapsed; hundreds of thousands of sq.m of roofing were torn off; several units experienced fences collapsing; and some areas for livestock and crops were damaged.
