On August 15, Senior Colonel Pham Hai Chau, Deputy Head of the Department of Search and Rescue under the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army, reported that the department has been maintaining strict search-and-rescue response procedures at all levels. They have provided timely advice to higher authorities and relevant agencies to effectively manage unexpected situations.

Specifically, local Border Guard units have deployed personnel to cooperate with on-site forces in overcoming the consequences of landslides in Chung Chai commune, Muong Nhe district, Dien Bien province, and A Mu Sung commune, Bat Xat district, Lao Cai province. Traffic and daily life in these areas have been successfully restored.

On August 13, border guards and on-site forces in Quang Nam province worked together to promptly extinguish a forest fire that broke out in Tam Quan commune, Nui Thanh district, Quang Nam province. On the same day, the Song Tu Tay (Southwest Cay) infirmary in Truong Sa island district, Khanh Hoa province, received and treated a worker from Da Nam Island (South Reef) who was suffering from colon spasms. The patient's condition is currently stable.

Additionally, after receiving a report of a fisherman from fishing vessel CM 91334 TS falling overboard and going missing approximately 40 nautical miles southeast of Hon Khoai Island, Ca Mau province, the Department of Search and Rescue under the General Staff requested relevant agencies, units, and local authorities to coordinate and mobilize four fishing vessels to actively search for the missing fisherman.
