Gen. Phan Van Giang sees the memoir of Gen. Hoang Van Thai and inquires after his relative.

They expressed deep gratitude to the former Party, State, and military leaders for their great contribution to the revolutionary cause of the Party, nation, the military building and defense consolidation.

Since its inception, the VPA has won numerous feats-of-arms. They made resounding Dien Bien Phu Victory in 1954, the entire victory in Spring 1975 for national reunification. In peacetime, it has excellently accomplished all assignments by the Party, State and people, constantly built a politically-strong, standardized, elite, and gradually-modernized military. In addition, its troops have enhanced training, strictly observed military discipline, promoted combat readiness capability, and stayed ready in any circumstances, contributing to safeguarding peace, stability, and development in the region and the world, deserving to the name “Heroic VPA.” The VPA’s successes have come from the great contribution of the former leaders of the Party, State, and military to ensure the actualization of the Party’s strategic decisions, as well as their leadership to bring the nation’s resistance wars to the entire victory, reunifying the nation, constructing and defending the socialist Fatherland of Vietnam.

During the event, Gen. Giang inquired after the late leaders’ relatives and hoped that they would bring into play their families’ traditions, and make contribution to building a more prosperous and civilized country.
