A minute' silence held to remember General Chu Huy Man

Senior Lieutenant General Vo Minh Luong, permanent member of the Central Military Commission and Deputy Defense Minister, chaired the event.

General Chu Huy Man was the former Politburo member, former Deputy Head of the State Council, former Vice Secretary of the Central Military Commission, and former Director of the General Department of Political Affairs of the Vietnam People’s Army.

At his tomb in Mai Dich Cemetery in Hanoi, the delegation laid wreath and offered incense in commemoration of General Chu Huy Man. They expressed deep gratitude to his great contribution to the national salvation and reunification cause.

The delegation later paid tribute to General Chu Huy Man at his house in Hanoi as well.

General Chu Huy Man, whose birth name was Chu Van Dieu, was born in Yen Luu commune, Yen Truong district, Hung Nguyen province (today’s Hung Hoa commune, Vinh city, Nghe An province). He joined the revolutionary cause at the age of 16 and was admitted to the Party when he was just 17 years old (December 1930).

During his revolutionary career, at any position, General Chu Huy Man was always steadfast in the goals, ideals and path chosen by the Party, Uncle Ho and people, and determined to successfully fulfill all assigned duties. He devoted all of the spirit, energy and wisdom of a communist to the revolutionary cause of the country, making contribution to the cause of national salvation, reunification, construction and protection.
